I was assassinated on Good Friday, April 14, 1965 while attending a performance at Ford's Theatre with my wife and two friends. I was assassinated by supporter of the confederacy, John Wilkes Booth. By killing me, they hoped to create chaos among the federal government, and therefore overthrow the Union. However, although they took my life, their plot to overtake the United State failed.
